Why Charlotte is a Great Place to Study Film & Video
Though it may not yet be the Hollywood of the south, Charlotte is actively promoting itself as a destination for filmmaking with the help of such organizations as the Charlotte Regional Partnership. The basic infrastructure of production houses, equipment manufacturers and trained crew are in place and available for film companies to come here and make the magic happen – and those companies that spend over a quarter of a million dollars on filmmaking in North Carolina receive a generous 15% tax credit. With the added potential offered by the usual complement of television stations, this is a community of possibility for filmmaker and broadcaster alike.
